Heavy Duty Drive Shafts

New Jeep owner and new member! I have recently bought a 81 CJ7 AMC 304 3spd(T-150 ) Dana 20 w/ 38" Super Swampers. Currently it looks like it has ordinary/stock drive shafts. Its not a off-road Jeep. Does anyone have any advice on any Heavy Duty Drive Shafts. No issues with it now, just want to have the best parts for what I am using it for.

Plus some Do and Don'ts?

I've used Tom Woods with good results. I've also heard Tatton (sp) makes good ones.

What about the axles? Are they still stock?

I run Tom Woods drive shafts and couldn't be happier. Their tech support is great too!

Note that the D/S tube wall will be thicker. The U-joint itself, is the same.

Well, technically, if your differential are geared to properly run with 38's your drive shafts won't see any more stress than with stock size wheels. But, if your running high horse power, or are running near stock gears or are into showing off the horse power you have, then stronger drive shafts are almost a requirement.

Also as has been hinted at, you will still be running with stock universal joints and stock yokes. With stronger drive shafts you might be sending breaking problems to a more expensive area.
