Jim - I've got my to long, but not long enough cable, I'd be glad to do it for free and send it to you. I see that you installed a 401 and propane fuel, this should be no problem at all for you to do.

When I first installed the 401, I used a Qjet carb....the propane carb linkage is pretty much the same and it's all in a stock configuration.

I'm still curious what the proper stock cable is supposed to be. The AMC 304 was put into CJ's so there has to be something out there. :confused:
 
The proper stock cable is VERY long requiring about a loop and a 1/2. Looks unprofessional and drives me nuts. When I fixed my old cable about 3" were cut off and it functions MUCH better. I believe the idea is that a long lazy loop creates less bind and friction than a short tight loop. It certainly worked that way in my case.
