Looking for some guidance on an issue with a 1982 CJ7 just recently installed new clutch and pedal is all the way to the floor. Replaced clutch master and slave cylinders and bled the system but no joy. Still pushing the clutch pedal into the firewall to shift. It works but is noticeably different from the old clutch. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
 
Might need to adjust the linkage. Also a little bit more information as the original setup on an 82 would have been an mechanical clutch not hydraulic

Sorry for the lack of detail. Nothing about this Jeep is original. Engine from factory, based on VIN look up, was a 4 cyl. This Jeep has a 1978 6-cyl AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l that was rebuilt in 2004 and I bought it in 2013. The Transmission is a T-5 that was just rebuilt and a new clutch was put in at the same time (not sure if this was in the factory from 1982 or added with the upgrade to the 6-cyl. Prior to the Transmission rebuild and the new clutch, this was not an issue. I'm hoping that the hydraulics were just not bled properly but not sure, it was done by a knowledgeable tech several times both before and and after the Hydraulics were all replaced (after the Transmission rebuild thinking it was a bad cylinder that caused the issue). Can you share where the linkage is located? (I don't see anything except where the clutch pedal mounts to the clutch master cylinder piston.)

I actually cut off I think like 3/8 th. Inch of the rod on my application. That helped get the pedal up some off the floor. I originally started out with a 4 cylinder and T-4 . Shifted soft as silk. Like a Honda. Swapped to a 6 cylinder and T-176 . Completely different. It’s acceptable now, but I’m starting to believe I won’t get that feel again in a clutch

But everything he mentioned is mechanical linkage so if it's got hydraulic then it's aftermarket of some sort. I'm still running mechanical linkage in my 85 with the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l and T-5 set-up

You mean the rod on the slave cylinder?
 
What CMC are you using and bore size ? Same with slave cylinder ?
 
From what I have read and seen they should be the same. Mine are not, cmc 11/16 and slave is 3/4. I do have a cmc spare that will be ready as needed, 3/4 inch bore.
