That pretty well sums it up. Sorry if this question seems silly. I've flirted with the idea of retro fitting a T-18 into my '78 CJ but like other expensive projects I have to work this out in slow stages as funds and time allow. With this in mind is it worth buying a case and building from the ground up (mind you I'm a novice on transmissions) or just saving for a $800-1200 rebuilt unit.
I've located one for a FSJ 90 miles from me but I wonder what kind of can-o-worms it'd be to convert for my CJ
