Well im glad to know what that thing is now, because i have one too except mine is above some of the air ducting on the firewall behind the speedometer.

By that time its pretty much shot.It was just one of AMC's bad ideas.

I'd like to thank the OP for this post! I nearly scrapped the cowl from my parts CJ7 a while ago, and had pulled some wires out of it beforehand. Looked over it today and saw the delay box, and that got my mind churning. Turns out I have everything to install delay wipers in my CJ during the re-wire for NO cost at all! :woohoo: Just gotta rob the 4 wire wiper motor off the 7 to install it on the 5 tomorrow. Hopefully it will still work after being in the rain for 1.5 years!
Anyone know any reason why the newer (inside mount) motor won't work in place of the (outside mount) motor?
