Locker problem / u-bolt conversion

Locker problem / u-bolt conversion
May have figured out part of the locker problem. Seems that the previous owner (father-in-law), used 85w140 gear oil in rear end. Thinking that oil may be too thick. Any thoughts?????
 
Changed the engagement springs on locker & put 75w 90 back in it. It is super fast on engaging, & releases quickly as needed. Sure hated to pay $34 for 4 springs & a set of pins but the jeep sure handles & drives better....
 
I guess I jumped the gun on the leak. Evidently, I just needed the seal to swell up.. Hasn't leaked a drop in 6 days...

I think $34 is a pretty cheap fix.
