I think I have all the parts together to do my rear axles. My question is where does the small axle seal go? Looking at diagrams and watching YouTube videos of one piece conversions show me how all the other pieces are ordered but none show the small seal. Even the instructions from Moser don't mention it.

I think its supposed to be the inner seal closest to the diff. Am I correct or is where the seal goes some kind of dark secret like the goat and freemasons that only true Jeep initiates learn?

I am really scratching my head here.2d4eb37fc421d4981826c4f4a1e3cfef.webpf90009349f874a1895e1608d313459e2.webp1ec868754be2b954f49215f3f37cad1d.webp8a4eeea6f26becac61224709cd86ffe5.webp

The smaller seal goes inside the axle tube.
BTW-You have the backing plate backwards....

What LG said .
Unlike most rearends the 20 doesn't lube the axle bearing with the oil contained in the housing. Hence the inner seals. The bearings must be packed like front wheel bearings with EP grease. Some folks have added a zerk to add grease after a few hundred miles.

Luckily I haven't pressed anything on yet. I realized that after I had already posted the picture.

Other than the FUBAR backing plate that is in the right order? Thanks for the answer.

Make sure also you put the correct plate on the correct side. Ask me how I know this !:bang:

Yeah, I have already been thinking about that. I am sure I will turn the air blue if I don't.
