I recently bought this MC 2100 carb to put on my AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l .

Hopefully that link works.

Any way. It's missing the. Part #46 in this diagram.

they are tough to find. I was thinking of buying another 2100 for parts. I was wondering if anyone knew if you could get this rod off ANY 2100 OR 2150 carb.

That's an auto lite not a 2100 but there close enough to the same. The rod your missing is available or at least it was at one point in time

That's the accelerator pump rod and is part # 2150-42. You could check carburetion.com (Web Site) or Mike's Carburetor Parts or salvage yards. You'll also need the clips for it.

Thanks for the speedy response guys.

It looks like that site offers a 5" and a 4.5" rod. Does it matter which length I get? I do have the tag, seemed to be off a 67' mustang. Perhaps contacting Mike's Carbs would be a good idea, I was planning to get my rebuild kit through them anyways.

I know you just got the carb but this would be a great time to upgrade to EFI. Sniper makes a great kit. No regrets here from switching

The length absolutely matters. There is some adjustment in the amount the rod pushes the pump based on mounting holes (inboard or outboard on the pump lever) or using one of the four (I seem to recall there are four) holes on the throttle linkage. Mounting the rod in a combination of these various holes allows you to adjust the "throw" and control how much it pushes the pump lever. But 1/2" in difference is too much to overcome with just the mounting holes.

Thanks for that info.

I tried to see what measurement looked good by just making sure everything was seated/closed on both ends of where that rod would be. Measurement was definitely closer to 4.5.

Appreciate you looking up that part.
