MC 2150 Install

So after much research I bought this MC 2150 kit to replace my faulty Carter carb from a guy called ehrmannmp on Ebay. The kit came with no instructions whatsoever and after a week of emailing, calling, texting him asking for the promised instructions I gave up and decided to install it myself. I did some research online and thought I had enough information to attempt the replacement myself. But not even the best plans...

I have a 1979 CJ7 with a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l I6. I tried dropping the new carb and it does not fit. Since I have no instructions I am not sure if I am doing anything wrong. I have attached some pictures to show what's stuck. I would appreciate advice? Did I buy the wrong carb?

I believe that is the diverter valve do you need to pass emissions in the county live in

Yes. It has to do with emissions. Do away with if you can. If not, You can buy spacers and longer bolts to rise the carburetor.

I live in Florida. We don't have to pass emissions nor will I use this car as a daily driver. Thanks - I will see what I can do to remove this.

The piece that you are hitting on the carburetor is called a choke pull off. If you can take some more pictures of that side of the carb, I can tell you how to get rid of it, it's not needed. You can swap over to an electric or an auto choke very simply for only a couple of dollars if you want.

I’m new here and don’t know my way around this site. I am looking for a reliable place to buy a mc 2150 for my AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l and don’t trust eBay. Any suggestions? Sorry for hijacking.
