Oil pressure switch needed

Hello all. Looking to install an oil pressure safety switch as part of my electric fuel pump/chevy 350 conversion. Is there something I can get at the parts store that would work? I'm guessing I would need to run it through a relay as to not burn up the switch. Thanks - Jd

Shouldn't need an external relay - they don't draw that much current, but the pump itself should have a relay.

You realize that with an oil pressure switch the pump might not run while cranking. This could result in difficult starts.

But yes, use the oil pressure switch to trigger a relay. I got my last one from NAPA. Just search for oil pressure switches and find the one you want. It will have two prongs instead of three.

Not necessarily, if you wire the pump relay to the ignition 'S' feed w/ a diode.

Google "fuel pump oil switch" and you'll find what you need.

I ended up going with an AC Delco switch (3 prong, bout $5 online) and wired it up with a relay. Works great - thanks!
