Here is a link to the outfit I got all of the supplies from. check out the heat sealing heat shrink, makes the joint insulated and water tight/corrosion resistant. They also make connectors that shrink and seal. 60 amp relays are cool, you don't have to need them that large but it is cool to know it's there if you need it. I don't think I would run more than 25-30 amps on the pre-wired sockets. the sockets will connect to each other, make a relay bar, looks a lot better than random relay screwed to a fender.
I kept thinking about trying to find a bad relay in the rain, in the dark, in the cold and/or all of the above.

I am going to post this here and see what kind of reply I get before I post it as a thread.
Where can I find a 12 V DC circuit that is powered when the switch is in "run" and not on in "ACC" The current will be whatever the relay coil draws, a little bit less than .2 amps so a 1 amp fuse will cover it nicely. The fuse is really just a good contact point for a voltage and continuity test. I have considered the ignition wire on the coil, a little voice is telling me that isn't such a good idea but I cant remember why.
Any constructive thoughts are always welcome.
