Just bought a 74 cj project and rebuilding the quadratic tcase. Chain and spider gears are worn but I did get a nice bolt on low range unit which is in great shape.

Having a hard time finding parts. Is it safe to say the best route is to gamble on another tcase for parts?

You have a CJ5 with a GM Turbo 400 ? WOW! That is one short drive shaft...

What year is the t/c and what is it out of? The QuadraTrac wasn't available until 76. Is it a 1305 (no low range) or 1339? Most likely a 1339.

Great guide by Novak -->> The Novak Guide to the Borg Warner 1305 / 1339 QuadraTrac Transfer Case

Here are some 78 parts (I picked an arbitrary year.) -->> https://www.morris4x4center.com/replacement-parts/drivetrain/transfer-case.htm

Yes, short rear drives haft. Motor/Transmission /tcase are out of a wagoneer. Its a 1305 tcase but has the low range gears so essentially a 1339. Thanks for the links. Can't find the parts I need though. Most available parts seem to be just a seal kit. There are a few cases on ebay I'm thinking about, but thats rolling the dice

CJ I was looking today for the animated video of the Dana 300 where it shows in colors the different gears working together I think it was in 4 hi 4 low 2 hi and neutral but I could not find it. Can you pull that back out ? Thanks

Yes I believe that is it. Or really close to it. Great thanks I wanted to show someone else but could not find it on Sunday.

Everything you'll ever need for these...

Update. I found a good replacement tcase and have replaced all the seals in it except for the case seal
The crown kit I got is great except the case seal is about 2x to thick to use.I've seen this has been an issue for others on the fsj forum but never saw if there is an alternative correct gasket other than just throwing rtv at it.
