Before buying a new anything, try "The Right Stuff". Don't use a gasket. Put some on the valve cover and the head. Let it dry for 10 minutes then put it together. (Follow the directions)I did this with my '81 AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l with a plastic valve cover and it worked. This was after 3 attempts with RTV and rubber and cork gaskets. For just a few bucks you will save yourself a lot of money and work. I got this tip from a master mechanic and it works.
