OK,
So just the housing has come loose?
Is it Plastic or Metal?
JB weld makes a Two Part epoxy.
One for Metals. And another for Plastics. Very good stuff.

I just went out and checked my tach.
Mine is a white-ish color and it seems like the shell is a hard polyethylene, or a pvc. Either way, I’d say a good two-part epoxy would work for the mend.
I think that shell is only to protect anyway.

Plus one for the JB Weld plastic fix. I used it repair a housing for a special mirror that a family member useses. Better than new. Just understand is that the repair is a nasty gray color.

yup, looks like the plastic cracked off from where it goes into the metal frame/ring

How thick is epoxy, never used it. Is it thick enough to stay on the outside of the plastic or is it gonna wick inside?

The color is fine, it will be in the dash and covered.

Epoxy is about like honey, as far as consistency.
I would bet you’ll be alright though, as far as intrusion behind the shell. Wrap a rubber band around the whole thing to apply some pressure while you place the epoxy around the perimeter.
