Misc Seperate small Vin plate

My 81 Renegade has the factory vin data plate on the firewall but has another small plate with a different vin number below the driver seat. Any idea what that other number is for?

Does it look like this or close? This is a trim plate for different years, but they are all similar. Can you post yours?

Mine came new with a sticker down low on the body by the driver seat. Been unreadable for a couple of decades

I can't remember when they dropped the riveted plates.

The inside one has long faded out.
IIRC, it showed GVWR and such.
