after taking the tub off today i gave the drivetrain a quick look. i grabbed the front drive shaft and twisted, it had a lot of play. how much is too much? rear drive shaft a some but not as much. the steering shaft has some play also. are they adjustable?

Play as when you twisted the complete drive shaft rotated or as the splines allowed each section to rotate?

I would not worry about it.

OK, drive shaft or steering shaft? Two completely different parts!

I think He's got two separate questions in one thread CJ,
I'll tackle the driveline....:D

When I say "degree of play"....picture your driveline cut in half and looking at the circle, how many degrees do you think its turning.....45*? 90*?

45 or slightly less

If has power steering you will have play without the fluid running thru the box.
