Spounds like water in the gas. Add a pint of plain old rubbing alcohol(don not drink it) to the gas tank-wait fifteen minutes and give it a try. SkyKing

I'd bet the farm it's the ICM (ignition control module). What you're describing is very (!) common.

i wonder if this could be my issue as well...was running awesome, now it wont idle, starts up if i give it throttle but once i clutch or let off gas, she dies out?

Vacuum leak.:D

was gonna pull it in tonight and check for any leaks, block egr was also recommend by my shop foreman.

its just odd,was running good after i rebuilt/installed motor for about 3 weeks...left work to a friend house, when leaving started fine. by the time i got to the end of the road she started acting up. well see.

Vacuum leak.:D
quick question, played w/ timing seemed it had to turn it alot...when i rebuilt had the machine shop get a cam for me..installed per dirrections and broke in properly...line up marks..does anyone know if i need to run different timing? maybe this is my issue..didnt really say much in install instructions....wierd it ran great for 3 weeks.

A bad icm can give an inconsistant miss and will affect the idle. One sure way to tell if yours is shot is to put your hand on it with a warm engine and it would be hot to the touch. If you have a vacumn leak, it will also affect the idle, but the engine operation is not affected as much as a bad icm. In the early stage of a bad icm, it will run worse as it warms up. When purchasing one, it is a "You get what you pay for thing", I paid around $80. for mine and the price goes down from there along with the quality. Vacumn lines of course can get old, crack and leak, if you are still using some of the original lines that could be a problem also.
