This is the Greatness of doing a Build by yourself !! You have Found the weak spots, corrected them.
And Now have "First Hand Experience" (OJT) on how your Jeep WORKS.
This "Education" is going to come in Real Handy when you have
"On Trail Issues" to quickly access them to Make a Field Repairs to at least get you to a Hardtop Road.
You just Don't Call AAA and give them your GPS Coordinates to come to Get You !!
 
GOOD NEWS !
That is a Weber Carburetor.
From the Pix, the plugged off line on the Drivers side is a PCV connection from your Valve Cover. I can't see the plugged off
Line on the other side well, but I think it is the Bowl Vent Line which would connect to the Charcoal Canister (if you keep it).

Weber Carbs are GREAT.
Easy to Work on and Tune. Parts are Easily Available.
Find the Carb Tag or Stamped Numbers on the Body Casting(s).
This will get you a Rebuild Kit if Needed.
I can help you with a few Off Road Tips later in your build with these Carburetors.
 
Thank you Soup for that I will try to find the number and get a pic of it. It's new so I would like to keep it if I can get it connected correctly I don't like hoses that should be connected not being connected because it looks unfinished. Plus that bracket on the left that has the throttle spring is all mangle and doesn't look right so I will probably have to track down the right one.
 
Later, get some more pictures of the Carb, Bracket, and attached hoses.
Then on a Parts Safari or from another member on here, get pictures of the Stock Carb set up.
From there, we can get you set up before you BUY parts you may Not Need.

Next we will search for a "Redline Fuel Pressure Regulator".
Weber Carburetors don't like fuel line pressure ABOVE 3 psi.
I see it was direct connected to the mechanical fuel pump. These usually run at 7-10 psi.

Things are coming together, eh?
 
I had a Weber on my AMC 150 for close to 30 years. Ran a lot better than the p o s that came with it factory.
 
Later, get some more pictures of the Carb, Bracket, and attached hoses.

Starting too. I have gotten to the front end now as you can see in the pics. I'm waiting for my socket to arrive so I can pull the rotors off, then I'm going to start cleaning all the rust from the frame and front axle and steering components. Replace the shocks and all the bushings and then paint it with the Eastwood. after that re-plumb it all brake lines fuel lines.

When you put it that way it sounds like a lot but when you look at it, it's not much.

And she can't get Jealous when you come in the house smelling like Old Gas, Brake Kleen, and have oily hands !! She knows you are not going to have Glitter on your nose....
