Hi all, I am in dire need of a tranny, I twisted the output shaft on my T-14 3 sp and cant seem to find one around. Any info would be great I am in NE wisconsin 30 miles north of greenbay. Have to sell my toy:( and not easy to sell without it moving

Herm is a great source, but marks68cj is in Wisconsin and Herm is way out here in the Northwest, heck from my house I can almost throw a rock and hit his shop but after spending the $550 for the tranny plus the shipping I have to believe that there is a 4x4 shop in in Green Bay that can put a new shaft in the Transmission for a lot less money.

My mistake.I thought he was wanting to buy a replacement mainshaft.I see now that parts are available if he can't find used Transmission .

Thanx guys..I have the tranny on the bench partially stripped down have found a new shaft but figured it would be easier to just swap a tranny but cant find one around here..and like I said I have to sell her and dont want to stick a thousand into a tranny that isnt the best one for it anyway lol. I do love this site..always someone ready to help..thanx again..oh yeah..I did mean the main shaft..I twisted the output end off at the Transfer Case gear..a little to much gogo and not enough slippage in the tires lol oops

I've got a '73 T-14 that was professionally rebuilt and ran until I scored a '77 T-18 . It's been sitting in my garage since the swap collecting dust.

k question from a noobie. I just bought a 74 CJ5 with a AMC 304 . The Transmission detents are very week. In fact I have to hold the shifter to stay in reverse. Should I try for another 3 speed T-14 or is there a nearly drop in 4 speed for the AMC 304 ??

If your 1974 CJ5 is stock a T-15 would have been standard Transmission behind the AMC 304 . It is a good Transmission just doesn’t have a granny low like the T-18 . The T-18 is the logical replacement if you want to upgrade as it was the OEM option offered between 1972 and 1979. Try this:
