T-150 plug? Or what is this?

I am trying to figure out what this plug or thing is on my T-150 tranny out of my 77 CJ5 . It is red and plastic and on the opposite side of my backup light switch for the reverse lights. Any thoughts would be helpful. Looks like it is just full of gunk but can't get a good picture of it.

Either back up light switch or Transmission controlled spark switch (emissions).
Back up light switch should be on the other side if I recall.

My backup switch is on the other side from that and my emissions system was removed by the previous owner. That would explain the plastic plug.

My 77 had the same plastic plug on the T-150 . Just a block off plug, not an electrical one. From what I remember, I don't think CJs used it from the factory.
