Can anyone tell me what this capped of hole is used for on the top shifter plate of my new T-18 -1B please?:confused:

Lubricating the shifting rails and detents - the ones that your pliers are resting on in the internal photo. Pull that out and use penetrating oil on them every once and awhile.
