It still looks like someone used it to haul cattle. I have no idea how you could beat the floor down like that. Guess it could have pretended it was a dump truck....

Maybe the back 1/2 was hanging out of the garage during one of those bad hail storms with baseball size hail ?

Could be - my money’s on haulin hogs LOL

Don't think I would be driving that sucker if the wild ones they have around here were in the back. Guy I work with hauls them dead for making some good sausage

Now I gotta scrounge up a Transmission tunnel cover. May just buy a chunk of 16ga steel and make one. Here’s what was in there.

The plate is uncut but too short for the cutout - a PO just added a strip to govern the gap...... and there’s also the issue of none of the new boots lasting much more than a year....... Tempted to make em out of leather........ or vinyl.......

I have one (or will once I swap out the tranny). I currently have a T-176 and Dana 300 . Let me know if it will work for you.

That would save me a bunch of time gabbing one up. Lemme know when you free it up and we’ll chat sir [emoji106]

That was supposed to read "fabbing"......

Anyway, had a very frustrating evening in the garage tonight. Now that the tub is lined, I wanted to start putting stuff back in. Decided to stick the under hood harnesses in place. Drug that all out, went to plug the connector into the back of the bulkhead, and remembered it wasn't there yet - its on the back of the dash. No problem - I'll mount the dash. But it would be easier to reattach the heater box first. Took the dash back downstairs and brought the heater box up. Gathered the hardware, and when I rolled it over the make sure the gaskets were in place, noticed I had forgotten to add a ground wire to the ground connection I rigged up for the motor. And I don't have that ready. Got the ground wire fabbed up, mounted the heater box, then realized I forgot to reinstall the washer fluid nozzles....... had to take the upper plenum out - now I can't find the stoooopid nozzles. Ok, I'll mount the brake booster, master cylinder, and clutch / brake pedal assembly. Actually got the pedals and booster mounted, but then couldn't find the nuts to attach the master cylinder to the booster. Must be some weird thread - couldn't find a single one that fit. Turned the lights out, had a shower, had a beer, and here I am. Hope tomorrow's better

This afternoon went better - got the headlight harness cleaned up, loomed, and stuck in place. Dug up the headlight relay harness I bought a while back, and spent a good while trying to decide where to mount the relays, fuseholders, ground and power buss bars, and ignition box. It's like a good puzzle.

Got most of the engine half of the under hood harness buttoned up - still have some work to do around the ignition box, but the rest is pretty straight. The headlight harness is ready to go in, and shouldn't take but a few minutes - the headlight relay harness is already in place. Now, with that said, I did take a little creative license with the 6' extension cable from the distributor to the MSD box....... I tucked it in the large loom running along the firewall from the fuse block bulkhead to the battery tray. I need to determine if the twisted pair from the dist. need to live by itself or tucked into the loom is ok.

And I got the spacer between the steering wheel and top of the column fixed up. It has broken in a couple places, so got that straightened out and painted. Good thing - they're kinda hard to find around here...

Just about got the wiring at the ignition box done. New starter solenoid should be here tomorrow, so that will neaten things up a bit.

Picked up a couple battery cables today as well at the apparent one and only NAPA around here, and the ensuing conversation with the manager left me feeling a little less impressed with NAPA these days. I told her I was thinking about using a dual post battery so I could run normal battery cable setup along with cables to the power and grainy busses. She said she wouldn't do that - she had a friend did that and burned the wiring up under the hood. Supposedly an ASCE certified mechanic did the work....... and determined that the extra ground cables increased the draw on the battery thus burning up the cables. That makes NO sense to me, unless they had a short. Dedicated grounds don't increase the loads - just reroute the path. I think she was talkin out her ***.
