The problem after you get one of these on your jeep is some low life will probably want it also
Well, if removing a steering wheel takes them half as long as me, then I’ll have plenty of time to catch em....

Ok - two coats of polyurethane in......
Once I get the grain filled, I’ll knock it back to a satin finish. I don’t care much for glossy wood finishes.

I didn't really realize my steering wheel looked like 
until tonight. The bad news is I can't compete with that even if I wanted too

Now, I didn't go back thru the thread to see who suggested it, but whomever suggested the walnut gear shift knobs, thanks a lot...... LOL. I have the walnut globs glued to backing plates for the lathe. Gonna try to get em turned next week. Just what I needed - something else to
occupy my time.......

Daughter and her boyfriend just left headed back home - so now that my babysitting duties are done, it's back to Jeep work LOL
Finished up the steering wheel last night - has a few imperfections in it, but I'm done. Couple months use and they won't even be noticeable. The grain is filled, the finish is a nice satin luster, and I like it....... and trying to photograph it is frustrating. A flash over exaggerates the colors, and indoors it's washed out. Once I get it in place and the Jeep is outside, it'll be somewhere between these.
Here it is in indoor lighting......

Now I gotta clean the spokes up where I got finish on em..... figured that would be the last thing anyways.....
