Frame ready to accept glass....

Edge gasket in place, primer applied, and small bead of urethane adhesive...

Good coat of primer, and triangular bead of adhesive. Triangular shape helps prevent bubbles.

All done! Glad I had him do it ........ this cost me 40 bucks less than I could have ordered materials.

Well, fix one problem and it causes another....... I had planned on not running a rearview mirror on the windshield - but the new glass comes with the mounting lug already there. So now I gotta scrounge up a mirror. The one I have is a little ratty lookin.......

It is easy to take the mirror bracket off if you don't want it. Take a pair of pliers and grab it, put some pressure on it as you heat it with a propane torch. It will pop right off. Have done it a million times.

Thanks for the info - over the years I've tried to glue em back up but I've never tried to remove one.

And once I got that frame outside in good light, boy did that paint job turn out pebbley - pretty badly. But - at this point I'm seeing the paint as corrosion prevention. It'll drive as well like it is as it would with a $3000 paint job on it.

Orange peel be damned and full steam ahead.

Where in Nova are you gonna be and when?

Dad and I are headin to Arlington to pick up my daughter, than stepping over to Rockville, MD to pick up a rescue dog for Him. He lost his dog to cancer a couple months ago and to say he's a dog person would be a major understatement....... should be in Arlington around 12:30.....

Well - After talking to Dad tonight, I was running with some bad info....... we are heading to Fredericksburg, Va tomorrow, and back. No Arlington, no Rockville...... plans changed a bit from yesterday LOL.

Too bad I won’t be around Fburg. I would like to meet you in person some day.

Careful what you wish for LOL. I agree - a face to face would be cool!!

The daughter unit is in Arlington for now, and her lease is up in a couple months. She decided to move - but hasn’t decided whether to stay in NOVA or head to Charlotte. Either way I have a feeling I’m already included in the move...... I’ll be around [emoji6]

I have been looking at the Charlotte area for when my wife retires. I really will have no reason to stick around Nova once the kids are done with school. Lake Norman looks nice.

Just did Google earth and that looks real nice. A really good friend of mine just bailed from Charlotte last year and bought a place that butts up against the smokey mountain park down on the south west side. Loves the area and nobody can build behind him because of the park

Lake Norman would a cool place to settle down. I like the area down thru here..... It's a little chilly the last couple days tho LOL

We almost bought a place a block from Lake Norman in Denver. Loved the lake, but the traffic anywhere down there and in Charlotte is a nightmare.

By fate, we ended up in Hickory... love it.

If I were retired, might have chosen somewhere near Black Mountain. Near enough to Asheville to be aided by their economy, restaurants, etc., without being too close to the non-conservative nature of the place (moved here to escape California). Less humidity than Charlotte too, though a might colder in the winter.

Very good friend of mine lives in Liberty..... Other than a troublesome neighbor, he’s happy with his spot as well.
