If the rest of your Jeep comes out that nice you will have a true show piece when you are done. Very nice

Well, went ahead and rebuilt the carburetor- figured it was about the only thing left not cleaned, gone thru, rebuilt, or replaced. Last one I rebuilt was many years ago, and I didn't like it. At all. I don't remember what it was on, but I remember it was a pain in the butt. This one, however, wasn't bad at all. Maybe Edelbrocks are easier to do, but this one was almost enjoyable. Soaked it in carb cleaner overnight, blew everything out with air, and reassembled. Everything was pretty dang close to spec but the float droop..... Got that straightened out, and it's smooth as glass now. After seeing all the trash in it, I'm glad I did it. It didn't clean up to like new, but it's a :dung: ton better than it was.

Oh - had an epiphany tonight.... been dragging my feet on fabbing up the coil mount. The bracket itself wasn't bad, but the strap I wasn't looking forward to. One of PO's had made one out of a strip of Stainless, and it was showing its age. Reworking that one wouldn't have turned out as I would like, and I haven't been able to come up with a readily available, cheap, alternative. Then it hit me..... it's ghetto, but I figure after a good degreasing and a coat of paint, it oughta blend right in. A 2 1/8" muffler clamp! Fits the coil perfectly, is plenty strong, and it CHEAP! LOL

I figure once I get the clamp painted, I should only be about 4 hours of work to first test start...... once I find the 4 hours of spare time LOL. I missed my "test drive by the end of December" goal, but just might make it by Spring Break [emoji51][emoji51]
