At least it takes you to the video..... I swear this thing idles better now with the new head gaskets.... May be my imagination.

Man - Trying to get a video from an iphone to here is proving to be rather difficult...... gonna try an imgur link

Heck with Imgur - they wiped the sound. Flickr at least has the sound....

Heres the aft end sounding pretty decent.

And this was a tad slow...

I know - the last two were sideways...... tilt your head.

Ok - Today is my "technology challenged" day....... the link posted an image, not the video. But if you click on the image it takes you to the Flickr site where the video will play.

Dang, I'm outta the mood, now........

Take it for a spin and get in a good mood. And flip off your neighbor as you drive by for me.

I'm getting REALLY close to an inspection sticker..... I'm still not quite happy with the timing, but that can be tweaked...... every light on the Jeep works as it should (a couple gauges don't, but there again - they can be fixed / replaced easily), the horn now works ( and might I add, the horns were donated by a full size Dodge pickup, and they sound a bit more wimpy than I'd a thought...), and as of tonight, the wipers function as they should - even AFTER I upgraded to a intermittent wiring harness, switch, and a 4 wire wiper motor. Easiest thing I've done to the Jeep, and the switch, harness, and motor all came from eBay - talk about lucky!!

The wiper motor is a 4 wire motor, and I don't remember what it came off of - could have been a CJ..... but the harness and switch are AMC but not CJ, my wiper linkages are YJ. Linkages went in smooth as silk, the piece that connects the motor arm to the wipers still had the motor arm attached from where I pulled the three wire motor out. The 4 wire wire motor also had the motor arm still attached, but its connection pin was different from the YJ. All I had to do was remove the existing motor arm from the 4 wire motor, attach the YJ motor arm, and hook everything up - easy peasy......

Here's the newer motor with the incorrect pin

That motor arm had been there so long it REALLY liked being there..... Leverage, yeah, that's the ticket

Nope - that attempt sucked..... repositioned leverage did the trick

Popped it right off, and the YJ arm bolted right back in its place.

Bolted it to the windshield frame along with the new backing plate and motor cover, routed the wiring harness down thru the cowl, plugged up the motor, switch, and the intermittent harness, and by golly it worked!! I know this is no big deal, but it's the first CJ I've EVER had with intermittent wipers!! This is awesome.... at this point the wiper arms are hanging in the garage wearing a fresh coat of paint, the new wiper blade heads are ready to go (can you tell which one is the old one?? LOL.

The only thing standing between an inspection sticker and the Jeep is shifter boots. Just thought about those last night in the shower (I usually do my best thinking in there), so on the way home from work I picked up a yard of vinyl and tomorrow I start sewing...... nothing fancy - just good enough to pass..... I can big deal them later..... I'll call the insurance co. tomorrow and stick liability on it, then try to get to DMV before they close and get plates - if I can pull all that off, inspection Friday........ [emoji51]

All of that sounds awesome. I have been thinking about making mine intermittent wipers for a while now. Some day I will. It has to be better than manually turning them on then off constantly while driving. ;)

I think I’m more excited about this than anything. If I had a nickel for every time I’ve turned the wipers on then right back off I could buy two more CJ’s..... easiest mod I’ve done!! The hardest part was finding the harness - the rest is all plug and play.

Just realized today that in order to pass state inspection, I can’t have any holes on the floor...... any. Been there failed that. That fired a memory cell - I fabbed up the Transmission cover a long time ago, but never procured shifter boots. Because I have a recently determined wonky combo of shift levers, aka a Transfer Case shift lever for a Transmission that’s NOT a T-176 , I can’t use the correct dual shift boot - my Transfer Case shifter comes thru the floor way too far forward for that. Not a deal breaker, just another annoyance. Gert made his, so here I go. Picked up about a yard of vinyl last night, which is more than I need...

Cut off about a foot from the end

Drew out what appears to work in my head on the back side

And here are the four pieces of the transfer shifter boot......... I think

I’m not gonna big deal these - just make em fit and fill a hole. I have enough to make 4 or 5 more sets so I have room to screw up......

But I do like the texture of the vinyl tho.....

I’ll start sewing tomorrow
