While replacing oil pump I found evidence of water leaking down the FRONT (inside)of the timing chain cover... I can't find any directions in any manual about sealing in this area....Anyone run across this problem?
I have to refill my over flow once a month.

WATER PUMP ????? head gasket? you said front inside ???

IIRC, some of the bolts are into the water 'jacket'.
The top bolt on the t'stat housing goes into the water 'jacket' and needs to have the treads sealed
Need to seal the bolt thread with Aviation Form A Gasket. You can get it from NAPA.

Yes inside.. Water pump's not attached to timing cover, two timing cover bolts seem to go directly into water jacket. But when I do a depth check the threaded holes bottom out. The leaks not that big, actually very small. I just was interested if anyone else has seen this before? I will have to pull the harmonic balancer to pull the cover. Looks like a spring project:(
