What did you do to or with your CJ today?
Since it was in the 70's today I took the doors off and drove around. It was only a couple of miles and over the firld with a trailer load of brush, but it was great. I can't wait till summer. :D

Finally put it back together. Now I just need to finish the vacuum lines and throw on the exhaust!

Removed all the smog, blocked the egr with a used Coors light can.
Changed the timing, tore out about 13 feet of vacume lines. Adj the carb.
The old AMC 304 runs well now !

Always works better when you use a Coors Light Can! Three friends and myself used about 1 can per pound of sausage this weekend. Bad part for my liver was that we made 275 pounds of sausage.

This won't be too expensive Dear! That's what I keep saying. Over and over again.

Bought. Hard. Doors. And. Top. Four. Springs. And. Tow. Bar. Under. $500.

Same style as in the pic, but mine is still in the bed of my pickup. Is this where the New England phrase "wikkid pissah" applies?

SWEEET. looks like a myers top. old school for sure.

Thanks. The seller said he thought it was a Myers top but wasn't sure. I just wanted the doors, but front springs and tow bar WERE on next year's Christmas list.

Got about half of my old back axle off, (heavy sigh) that was heavy

I see by your stats you have a half cab ready to go on, sounds great. Was driving in 25 degree weather the other day and wished i had a hard top. That's ok, gonna get dad to cut out some 10 gauge steel half doors to drop the top half of my bestops doors on. Maybe that and the blazer motor upgrade and I might get some warmth.
Otherwisw all I did today was drive over to mom and dad's.

^ ^ ^ Cool Wooden Dash ^ ^ ^
Did you make that cworld?

Put on a towing hitch and ball, and checked out the trailer 'level' hooked to a 5.25 inch drop hitch. All good! Next, tow the rig and watch it for anything unusual.

yesterday got the wife in the jeep for the first time. She said fix the exhaust leak and it'll be g2g. Today while driving through the local town she points to a crawler say we need seat belts like those. So maybe so four point harness is in the future, but then I would need different seats. So it goes. At least she's willing to ride in it.

Installed the exhaust, tuned the carb, and fired her up! After some minor adjustments to the timing it is running great. Even drove it around for 10-15 minutes, and so far no leaks... fingers will remain crossed though.

I took the first step on getting my 81 CJ7 back on the road again! I passed the Texas vehicle safety inspection with flying colors. Getting it re-plated this week. Still a lot of work, but it's been sitting in the garage since 1997. Good to have an old friend back!

I got new tranny mounts and fluid. It changed nothing. She's dead to me

Got the frame 90% sand blasted this afternoon. Will finish that and the other major metal components in the am. Then get it all painted tomorrow, hopefully....

Need to get the internal frame stuff from Eastwood ordered and applied while getting it back together.

Exciting times!!!!:chug::chug::chug:

Unbolted everything from the head so I can pull it. Also found that my front drivers side spring mount plate is in 2 pieces.
