What did you do to or with your CJ today?
Took the disk brake shields and caliper brackets off last night. Have some cleanup to do on them. Could potentially be removing the spindles tonight.

got the drivers side seat from a 60/40 front bench seat pulled from picknpull

Not so lucky. Tried using a puller on the spindles. All it did was deform the spindle nut. I'll have to try another method to get the spindles off.

I've had the best luck with a small chisel and hammer working my way around it.

I eventually got it. Ended up using a different puller and multiple nuts on the spindle. Results are in my build thread.

Got the steering box , steering shaft and power steering hoses pulled off. Boxed up the steering box to ship to Lee power steering tomorrow for a rebuild. Ordered a rugged ridge hd steering box mount and new hoses today. Also ordered new front parking light housings, took mine apart today to try and get the left one working and they are in bad shape so new one on the way. Also mounted the new center console only to take it back out, I am getting ready to strip the interior to clean up and put in the bedliner. Also done a ton of reading on the net about the cj. Trying to put together a list of things that need done and things I want done. Gonna try and prioritize.

Worked on my drivers side seat brackets again. I do believe I've got it this time. 4th or 5th time could be a charm. Had them perfect until I decided to add under seat storage. Thought it was right, but the front of the seat was to high. Lowered the front and had one side to high, shortened that now all seems to be well.

Now I'm adding a security door for the under seat storage area. It's going well, but there's a snag in the hinge arrangement.

Ordered parts for my front axle. Bearings, seals and rotors.

Checked the oil, checked the tranny fluid....went for white gas....hit up the backroads along our mtn. bluff. Found one mud hole! Cousin rooms pics so I will post when I get them myself.

Good day. Finished a security door for my driver side under seat storage. Worked very well I'm happy with the result. The inside fender is a repop for a 76 and newer Jeep. The inside rubbed on the air pump so I cut it and welded. The modification worked better than expected, looks good enough and clears the pump perfectly. There was a missing body plate at the back of the drivers side rear wheel. It was a simple task to make one up and weld it in place. While there, a wire was spliced and a couple ground wires were taken care of. After welding a body patch where the body transitions from floor boards to rear bed a couple weeks ago, the body pucks were finally replaced. The shock was also set. I noticed a broken exhaust pipe mount so that was re-welded into place.

I simply HAD to hear the Jeep run and to run it through the gears. Unfortunately the clutch hasn't been hooked up, don't ask why, I have no excuse. So the Jeep was jacked up on stands at the rear. The front wheels were completely blocked from moving. The 360 fired right up after sitting for about a month and was allowed to warm up properly. Then it was shut off and put in gear and started. The Jeep sounded AWFUL. I was worried about blowing the Transmission rebuild and shut her off. the Jeep shut off but kept turning. WHAT! The solenoid had stuck on. A smack with a wrench on the solenoid stopped the starter from turning. Now I need a new solenoid. Then the Jeep started right up and the horrible sound was gone. I ran the jeep through threw the gears, not easy without a clutch. Then I noticed a rear wheel wobble. Now I'm worried about bent axles.

Good things happened though. I found that the speedometer works, that was always a question. The headlights work in both high and low beam. The turn signals work properly. Now to hook up the brake lights and the back-up lights. Both are going to take some research since neither one worked when I got the Jeep. All in all this was a great day, actually a couple days work. Big steps toward being road worthy and getting a registration.

New heater core and blazer motor upgrade. AWESOME.

After over a year of dealing with reproduction gauges that did not work at all (i.e. clock) or gauges that were not accurate (i.e. speedometer assembly) I decided to modify my dash with new Autometer gauges. At some point I may buy a new stainless steel dash with Limited cutouts to make for a nicer installation.

Rickster, where did you find the speedo and tac that say jeep on them?

Ick .... the clock isn't chrome

Joke :)

The pictures are very professionally done, looks like a photo shoot for a mag or an advertisement, nice.

After finding where the Hazard flasher unit was, yeah it was right in front of my eyes, the old one was replaced with a new electronic unit. Guess what, the hazard lights that didn't work, NOW WORK properly. Deep sigh of relief, messing with the bundle of wires that make up the hazard light circuit did not sound appealing to me. I replaced the starter solenoid. Unfortunately the old one stuck with the starter engaged and the engine running, now I need a new starter. Step forward and half a step back. Some vacuum issues were also dealt with. The brake and backup light circuits need to be figured out, neither work. There is a new backup light and hydraulic brake switch, now to find the wires that go with them. Neither were hooked up when I got the Jeep.

Well, went out to warm up Nellie for a quick trip to the Beercave and then stroll around the mtn. Noticed the lights didnt really shine too bright. Didn't tell anybody because one was paranoid already:what:, next morning I went out to find a melted connector. I would love a harness as some of you have got but the money tree isn't as fruitfull as it should be. So, $3.00 for a new socket and shazam, 11.6 volts constantly available once again.
