I feel for ya, Pete. Mine's sittin' too...

Guess I'm screwed now. Was gonna back my 8 out from under the shelter so Mike could haul her up to his garage and get her trail ready. Decided to let the big boys handle this... Anyway, NOW 4wd will not engage and there's a bigass oak tree in front of her. May have to drag her out backwards, kicking and screaming, as the rear right wheel is locked up! True to my word- ran that girl 'til she dropped ;-)

Sorry to read that, Suz.

Reminds me of two philosophies:

1) if it breaks, it needed replacing anyway
2) don't make broken worse

If you subscribe to option 2, you could use, or borrow some floor jacks and use 'em as dollies.

Well, I got home this evening, and there she STILL sits- keys and the note I left undisturbed. Will have to follow up tomorrow and try to get her to town...

I give you IO's first law.

Never plan to do anything you can not do all by yourself.

Wise words, IO. I employ that strategy in my business and know everything is done to my standards. But, as far as my Jeep goes, the plan now is to NOT do ANY of it myself...

Thanx. Mike is good as gold. Will get it done. I think it rained here today. Probably held 'em up....

What a girly thing to say.

Hate for you to break a nail or anything.

Well Babe, what's the point in being 5'10 and blonde with 4k in silicone, if ya can't make it work for you

Now "that" was a girlie thing to say...

Replaced motor mounts, fixed factory a/c and gave her a spit shine.

Heaven forbid a girl have to make due with brains and talent.

Can definitely make due with what I've got;-) What I DON'T have is the brute strength, tools and workspace for the job.
Will rectify that in time. My new place has a 2-car garage that'll be ALL MINE!!! Just have to get moved...

Silicone man I hate to use silicone, as a gasket material I simply haven't had much luck with it, I like the older gasket sealing stuff. For a while I used the fast drying silicon spray lube for my rifles, but have moved away from it. When I got my '80 CJ5 the top was covered in blobs of silicone, the PO Larry use the stuff on each and every leak he could find in the top, got so I hated the stuff. But ******* wait a minute ........ did I read that correctly 4k worth of silicone, I was going to say that I'd like to see what 4k worth of silicone looked like, but now I'm thinkin' we aren't talking about automotive silicone at all, somehting else, another kind of silicon all together and since this is a family board seeing that much silicone all in one place(s) probably wouldn't be wright..... ;)

Saline actually, but didn't think any of you guys would grasp my meaning... Can certainly move the conversation elsewhere ;-)
