I was on a hunting trip with a client, he bet me I couldn't make the shot.
He didn't know I regularly practice out to 800 meters. I own my own range.;) Wow, I wish I could go. Their are few things I can think of that taste better than Wapiti backstrap. There's a guy here in Washington Co. that's raising
them, but I'm sure he would take offense to me sniping at one.

I love to talk hunting, heck I love hunting, but let's leave this thread about working on your CJ, and start a hunting thread in SD&M.

I called a local auto machine shop today, the guy said if I bring him my head it will be about $250 to do a complete valve job, so I started ripping the head off. Well, until the wife said dinner was ready, now I'm sitting here fealing stuffed, and not wanting to go back out to the cold garage

And I dont even hunt.
I called a local shop today, the guy said if I bring him my head it will be about $250 to do a complete mount job. It'll look great in my trophy room.

EB did ya get off your butt and pull that head yet? :D
OOPS who am I to talk i still haven't even put the water pump back on...

I scored a 20 gallon tank for my rig today, another CL find.:D

I finally got off my dead :censored: and worked on my axles today. Dana 44 's front & rear with 4.11 gears. I got the mud/oil mixture cleaned out today; hopefully I'll get them back together tomorrow. The front just needs new seals, but the rear is getting bearings too. I think now is a good time for a  or 3!

I spent most of the day in my "paint booth". Also known as the workshop below my living room. The drivers side door is ready for clearcoat, the passenger door has the first coat of color on it.

Actually son is driving it to school in Nashville, 70 mile round trip and trust me it is driven hard. Oh and Daughter only has learners permit so she lets him borrow it to save gas.

Anything you did, washed it , broke it, drove it, or improved it!

post up
How about ignored it??
Spent all day on the J-10, not a total waste I guess.
Learned a good deal about the carter two barrel carburetor.
It quit idling yesterday on the way home from the country. I took the carb apart and cleaned / adjusted just about everything. I also did plugs, wires, rotter and cap, long overdue.
I found "dirt" where it should not have been in the idle fuel pick up tubes. I sprayed the venturi out with carb cleaner and all is as it should be.
It blows to spend eight hours finding the problem and 10 seconds to fix it.
Now I have to decide weather to blame it on the Carter carb, ethanol or Exon gasoline. Or maybe all of the above.
The truth is I think the truck was jealous because I have been spending all my spare time with the CJ. The CJ is obviously a painted lady with way too much bling that couldn't carry a sheet of plywood if her life depended on it.:o

Not the CJ BUT, on mommas TJ finally wired the windshield lights, as well as new brakes...Oh and pulled and cleaned the intake from daughters Miata and wow serious carbon build up. May have to try the fuel additive http://www.jeep-cj.com/forums/f49/fuel-additives-2058/

Supposed to be warm today think I'll find something to do to my Jeep :D

She has a learners permit and has a miata? Are you for real?.....

DADDY!!!! :) I finally found you!! :)

What the hell? Bubba is an only child, and he will have an old hand me down beater from hell before he gets anything good. Why? Tradition. I had to drive my mom's grand fury, my daddys dakota (which I blew up) and my grandma's caprice classic before I ever got to think about getting my own (after I graduated high school.) A miata. Damn. All I ever wanted was a friggin Jeep.

My first at 16 I bought, it was an old '78 Ford Truck my dad and I shoe horned a 429CJ motor into, LOL the good ole days.

I sold it later and got a CJ7 , that I half cabbed. Cut part of the stock fiberglass top out and glassed it back together to make a half cab. Man I miss that Jeep.

My first was a 47 Chevy with vacuum assist shift. Drive out was $AMC 150 . Kind of steep when I was only making $5 a day, but dear old daddy co-signed.

On the CJ front, ordered a new hood vent to replace the one the hail broke, plus a couple of tow hooks. Damn, with shipping, that was half the cost of the first car :(.

Bought a sand blaster and got the frame on stands in the the back yard to sandblast. Then it started pouring down rain!:bang::mad: Maybe next weekend!
