yep a long process, It never ends, that is why we love them so much, we can always look forward to a bit of wrenching.
My theory is a Jeep does not respect anyone who cannot work on them, so they have to test us from time to time.

I am just trying to get it to the "complete enough to drive" stage then I will be able to test it a little and see what breaks....lol

I do like how easy the Jeep is to work on since it is not covered with plastic covers, electronics to infinity, etc.

X2 on that!;)

Pulled maintenance today. Set the valve lash, changed plugs, changed valve cover gaskets, adjusted the carb, changed oil & filters.
Today was perfect weather for it, 70 degrees. ;)

Getting ready to throw 75lbs.of brisket & 25lbs of venison sausage on the O'l Pitt.

Just changed oil and misc pm's so my daughter and I can go wheeling tomorrow :D. Happy New Year !

Troubleshooting Dash light and headlight problems

Installing wiring for Meyer 7' Plow setup.:chug:

Installed brand new soft top and doors yesterday :chug:

Put a few miles on the J-10, picked up a Dana 44 axle to swap out with the M20.
I was hoping for a 3.54 but got a 3.73:1, oh well.
The boy I got the axle from has some more stuff if anybody is interested, I think the frame, at least is a pre 76 but the owner thinks it is a 76, the frame is not boxed in as a 76 would be.
I would like everybody to look at these shots of the tranny and tell me if you recognize it.No prize, just honorable mention.:notworthy:

here is a shot of the back of the TC as well.
he has a fiberglass bucket and fenders with hood, not in bad shape, not really into fiberglass. And he has a AMC 304 that has not turned over in 8 years. tried to turn the balancer by hand and got a bit of movement.
Tomorrow is finish the wheel bearings and front brakes day.
There is a roomer that the sun may make an appearance tomorrow.

Thought about how much I would enjoy working on it but couldn't bc its 130 miles away in a Warehouse in Seattle while I sit at my cubicle in Central WA.... I miss you... :(

replaced horn 4bulbs and 2 light fixtures , replaced light switch
Got inspection sticker!! messed with steering then got fed up and called it a day till i got a "magicial second wind" and started grinding old purches off 14bolt in my garage.

I spent money on it. Tach converter for the MSD ECM and new distributor and all that goes with it. I think this should keep me out of trouble for the weekend,

I am disassembling my Transfer Case . I have a Dana 20 and I am rebuilding it with TeraLow gears.
Once again I can repeat the saying: they don't build 'em like they used to. Back then they just added more steel here, bigger gears there, large bearings. No wonder these transfer cases can handle a high power V8.
Now-a-days they skimp on materials, use more aluminum. Oh, they can sill make hefty equipment but they accomplish it with better engineering instead of the old philosophy "just make everything massive and out of steel".

replaced the water pump with a high flow one and upped the fuel pressure to 2.5 psi from 2psi. Seems to run better with the slight increase.
Webber carb ..

Over the weekend, I mounted the MSD 6 off road.
I mounted the remote voltage regulator.
I fabed the mount for the TFI coil, I still need to weld it.
I pondered the location, under the dash, for the MSD tach adaptor.
I learned of the possibility that I may have miswired the MSD 6 and corrected it.
