What did you do to or with your CJ today?
Sent some parts off to sand blast, then paint, I used Hammer Forged Paint on the Roll Bar and rack

Took the 7 for a short drive in between storms today. We are beaking in new gears front and rear so drive a while then let the diff's cool. When I got home I couldn't turn the key off it was stuck. Tried to choke it that didn't work. Pulled all hot wires from the battery and kept running. Finally pulled the hot wire off the hei distributor and it shut off. Have a replacement key cylinder but I think to change it the steering wheel needs to be pulled. But I had a nice little ride….

Started my front cage bending and fitting.

:) Nice, been there done that! Your "Side Brows" are very similar to mine. Keeping the top up and away is VERY nice and almost "Flop" free. You took a direction I considered, but didn't end up doing. You took your side bars and went front to back. I started side to side, then added the sides. One thing I was surprised about. When building the "cage" everything was bolted up and neutrally stressed. No pulling or pushing. After welding things up I can't say as that is the case anymore. Metal moves (shrinks and expands) with the heat of welding.

I assume you are going to go across too.

Yes, will be adding two across the windshield, two in the middle perpendicular to the windshield and two diagonal braces at the back.

Two down the middle similar to mine (and others)? I like that arrangement. Maybe later a radio or gun rack will got here on mine.

Funny, I cut my angled members off and went with a squared unit like yours. It appears that you are going the other way.

More progress on my cage. Everything shown is mostly welded in place. Got real ambitious and also replaced a blinker light assembly :)

Wooly- How are you going to deal about sun visors?

The trail movies look like fun. I was wondering if there was a lunch, camp area or fishing hole at the end of the trail. Instead you were up with the blue berry's and bears. Fun!

Well there's both, one of the ponds you see from the top is where the beach and camp is. We always do the Mtn trail once or twice a year but have never camped at the beach. There is a tight trail into it and I'm going to clear and scout for the clubs camping trip there next week.

I'm right on the edge of needing Sun Visors. Been considering locating them on the bar, but major visor shortening surgery would be needed.

Woolyworm, Those videos were great! If you are returning, put the story into the run reports section in this forum. Hedge, I have the same issue not having visors on my front roll bar. I think it would be good to have them, but have been dealing without it for many years now.

Thanks Torx - I can't create any new posts - think it has something to do with the site issues. I'll give it a try again though. It's a really fun run, not super difficult but a handful of fun little tricky spots. If you're open open its quite challenging.

In most vehicles I can't SE the road when I put the visit down since my eye height is so high.
