What did you do to or with your CJ today?
It should i dont see why it wouldnt they didnt change anything and from what ive learned anything from 76-86 is inter changeable ? do you have some insight i do not IO as you are filled with many words of wisdom.

I asked the question because I am pretty sure you have done your research and know what you are buying and I don't know.
I think there will be some difference with the fuel filler hose but I am not sure what. I am pretty sure the hose is smaller diameter but I don't know if it is on the same side. take a look and let me know.

busted the cracked windshield out of the frame and started the frame restoration while my wife finished painting the rest of the tub with POR 15

got a new gas cap for the 70 and a winch plate for the 67

You were right on the gas tank IO as always but i have a gas tank from the 84 hopefully it will bolt right in if not ill find a way to fab something up with no welding skills :D i think its time to go talk to me neighbor and ask for some lessons.

Both of my hard doors are painted, all of the glass and weather stripping is on, I'm just waiting on the interior panels to show up in the mail and they'll be done, pics when they're complete :D

I also ripped the carb off (again ) installed an elcheapo Mr. Gasket fuel pressure regulator and see through plastic fuel filter in an attempt to figure out why I can't keep her running. Thurough carb cleaning and re-install tomorrow.

:chug: My fingers are crossed for ya! At the very least I hope you can determine whats wrong , and hopefully remedy it quickly. ;)

You and me both Pete. When I took the carb off I took everything including the adapter off. The gasket between the adapter and the manifold was dry and looked good. The gasket between the adapter and the carb however showed tell tail signs that I did not have the carb torqued down enough.

I've got a few more brand new gaskets laying around and a spacer for the carb. Not an aftermarket one, an actual motorcraft carb spacer. I had it media blasted so it's all cleaned up. But, I'm going to need some longer bolts to bolt the carb and the spacer to the adpater.... Always something :chug:

You got that right, it's always something.
We got faith in ya buddy, "get er done"

It's just a machine.
I went to the PYP and pulled a tilt column from a 92 Cherokee. It looks to be a couple inches short so I will see how it turns out but I think this could work out OK.
If I can get this done I can put the dash back on and the seats in and yadda yadda yadda.

I just finished rebuilding my Transfer Case and installing TeraLow gears. I started it last weekend but I needed to pick up a new wheel for my angle grinder. Now I just need to paint it. Others on the internet painted the parts when it was dissembled. I think this will work out better painting it all as one unit. Less to mask off.
It was actually very easy to rebuild my Dana 20 although I did have to do some grinding on the case to get the lower gears in.
Oh, one last thing: I was hoping to replace the speedometer gear to correct my speedometer. What I need is a 17 tooth metal gear and I'm not having much luck. My sources on the internet are saying I need a 39 tooth plastic gear to work with my 35 inch tires and 4.88 gears. I now realize they are talking about a completely different part. Maybe the Dana 300 has the larger plastic gears.

Pulled the PTO winch, PTO unit from my 67
yes they are for sale
am putting a Warn Powerplant on the 67

Yesterday, dropped the gas tank and went and picked up more fuel line and hose clamps. Today gonna blow out the lines, find a place to dump the gas and see what the damage in the tank is.

found dana 60 front end with high steering already on for 500 bucks in great shape . now i can finish my rig for a while (hopefully) Its gonna be pretty beefy, d60,with red neck ram hydro assist up front, and 14bolt 5:13s , arb in the rear and detriot (or maybe full spool) in the front
better stock up on beer and whiskey next weekends gonna be real fun:chug:

dug my jeep out of 5 feet of snow and marvelled at the expertise the po used at adding 10 gallons of bodyfilla to this jeep ??? well the frame looks ok now i just need an acre of winch cable lol

Put the new windjammer on so I could go for a ride, I'm getting soft in my old age.
