Not sure if it was a dealer install or not back then. Soft tops and such were dealer installs.
I do believe that 71 Jeeps came with the Selctro hubs and Warn's came later in the 70's.
Don't take this to the bank........;)
LG

:)
Installed as factory option late 77 and 78 on a Dana 30 front axles with the Big Brake option..........that option included vented 1.125 disc rotors ,A single piston 4085 & 4086 caliper , 6 bolt internal HD hubs and 6 bolt HD Warn Premium hubs........when looking at any parts book for that era 6 bolt denotes this option while 2 bolt denotes a non-vented rotor and 5 bolt hubs.....In 1979 they went cheap and back to the non-vented rotor.............The 6 bolt vented rotor Disc brake kit was what most folks were looking for in wrecking yards if upgrading there early D-25 or D27 axle to the later Dana 30 w/ Disc's..............

Yesterday I drove my CJ to the golf course to watch my son do a ball drop. It's a charity event where the golfers buy a golf ball with a number on it, my son then drops the balls on the green and the closest to the pin wins.

He entertains the golfers for a bit then lifts the bag of balls and drops them on the green.

At the 16 sec mark of the first vid you can see a bird fly through his blades, looks to be a white dove.

Very cool Posi!:notworthy: Is that his 47?
I earned my Rotor Cert in a Robby 44.

Fantastic. I earned my jet cert. in a 500.
The 44's are very twitchy, and you have to be so gentle with the controls. I found the 500 very easy to fly. Really enjoyed the 'stick' time I had in one.
Those helo line stringers are just one step over the crazy line.:D

Got the Jeep back from the diff shop today. Removed the sway bar links today as well.

This week we have installed a new fan and fan clutch. The flex fan just didn't seem to move enough air at higher RPM's even with an auxiliary electric pusher fan.
All fluids topped off, top installed, and Jeep washed in preperation for next weeks departure for Colorado.
Also, fuel injector problem repaired on our F350. Not a Jeep, but it's what gets the CJ from point A to point B, and without it, the Jeep is just another pretty face on the streets!

Today I installed my console for starters. Last week I had my Craigslist rear seat brackets sandblasted and today I painted them then replaced 2 of 3 seats and ordered a new slider for the drivers seat. I used stainless bolts with anti-seize. Getting those others out was a bear.

I checked fluids, rotated tires and just did some cosmetic stuff. Also got a good tool list started for the trip.

After reading your build page, I would say you and Mr. Bass really deserve an awesome adventure in Colorado.

Ha! These spark 3x per ignition, one on each band. The idea is that naturally spark travels towards the most humid area, in this case where the fuel is.

Those look nice. You could mask them off and hit them with rattle can truck bed liner from Walmart for a nice look.

I put the plugs in and it ran good cold and ran like 5#I+ hot. Fell on its face. Died. Backfired. All of it.

I pondered it a bit and then called mriplaybass and we talked it out and he suggested I "might" try ported vacuum instead of manifold vacuum due to what it does for timing.

I tried it and it idled like a sewing machine for 20mins. You lose some low end throttle response but it taught me something.

I may go back to manifold and back off the timing 3-5 degrees and see what happens. See if it get idle and throttle.

Also found a leaking freeze plug. That's great news with heading to Colorado in two days. I'm having it fixed tomorrow.
