What did you do to or with your CJ today?
Bill, FWIW. I get the best range from my CB using a 102" SS 'whip' ant.
I keep it 'folded' over on the trail.
May I ask what antanna you're using?
LG

I used to use a 102" steel whip but decided a 48" fiberglass made better sense rather than deal with a tie-down. At the trail ride this year, Shooby had a slick mount that goes behind the tail lamp assembly and puts the base of the antenna right at tub level. I installed one of these and moved the 48" whip up from the rear bumper. This should give me a better ground plane (plain ?). Later this week I'm going to dig out my old SWR/wattmeter and tune the whole antenna system for max performance.

A good SWR ratio(1.3 or less)will do more, in most cases, for the radio than just a long antenna.
Please let us know how this works out.

Man I saw a video from an engine show where they were running a really old power plant diesel with selectable cylinder firing that was neat to see rings of smoke coming out of each cylinder and it just puff along on one cylinder, guy said video didn't do it justice as it was shaking the ground every time it fired I would love to go to a show like that

Today I took my Jeep CJ-2500 out into the mountains to collect firewood. I got quite a load but then when I was about to . . . um . . . What's that?

Yea, it's a Jeep CJ-2500, a three quarter ton. Anyway I got quite a load but then . . . ah . . . What is it now?!?

Okay okay, it is a pickup, a GMC. NOW can I tell my story?

Great! Fine! Be that way. I'll just go find my own web site!

But that saw is so .... oh I don't know ..... so yellow. Can't be a Stihl or Husky .... and that blade is so long. :)

Man I bet the environmental wackos would :dung: in their pants if they saw that power plant running

Wow! What an interesting sound. Not a green question, just curious, I wonder how much oil they burned. A few years I noticed that modern day trains don't smoke anymore. It wasn't long ago that the big black smoke would roll from the diesel electric trains we see today. I guess the day of smokey trains went the way of joints in the tracks.

My front bumper met my grinder today, I like the smaller profile, hope I don't need to lean on a tree to use the winch

My 2 year old insisted on being in the garage lol she hid under the work bench till I turned my grinder off

Fenders and knuckles are cheap.... I bet she's a lot lighter. Now that's a body lift. Is that a home made reverse shackle set up I see?

I've been lucky enough to see 3 space shuttle launches. 1st was in 1983 from my dads sailboat - unbelievable power, the boat was hit by a down wind noise and shockwave. That was before the first challenger disaster when you could get pretty close, maybe to close. Second was a blinding night launch on a clear fall evening. I was lucky enough to be a NASA launch honoree because I work at the NASA rocket factory in New Orleans. It is not an easy thing to see. I have been several other times only not able to see because of technical difficulties and other delays. What I'm really wanting to see is the new rocket just starting to be built to see that launched
