What did you do to or with your CJ today?

What did you do to or with your CJ today?
Today I repaired all the damage I inflicted a couple weeks ago on the trail. Some bodywork, some paint, adjusted the windshield and new mirrors.

I got the windshield close, but I'm planning on replacing it this winter so I'll worry about it more then.

Didn't realize I was posting on a different site for "What did you do..." Anyways....

I mounted my fog lights. I'm still trying to get to the scrap yard for GM power bus and maybe a relay that still works.

Didn't have an old windshield mount, so the next best thing.

As I was preparing to leave for work very early in the morning and in the dark, my neighbor across the street had all the lights on and was making a ruckus with a loud banging of metal which distracted me. He stopped and began staring me down and I moved on. Completely forgot that I had our newer Lincoln parked behind me in the driveway and proceeded to back into it, buckling the hood with my spare. So pissed right now  What in the hell could he have been doing????

Ouch, that hurts! Is he normally a jackass? I had one of those, after he took the torches he borrowed and soled them. I was neighborly, didn't pitch a big fit, I wonder if he ever noticed that I routinely went out and pissed on his handlebars and seat. Revenge is best served cold...... That was a long time ago, the statutes of limitations has long past.

This is a little different. All of us neighbors are concerned about this house since it is occupied by several Indian families. They keep to themselves but can be strange in behavior. You'd think with that many men present, they could at least keep the house up and mow the grass every once in a while. The noise they generated this morning made me wonder if I needed to contact HLS!

DANG-You sure had a Monday for sure.
If that house is trashed-Would the city code enforcement help you?

If they're glaring at you, then either you've done something - or they've done something. My money's on the latter...

If you see something...say something...

Indians? Maybe it was a rain dance, did you consider that....

:agree: :notworthy:

IF, there are multiple families, in a single family residence. That is a code violation in 99% of the cities in the USA.
If you have a friend who's a LEO. Give him the lic plates and have them ck'em out for warrants and such.

I would have gone over to see what they were doing and find out what his problem was. But then I like causing problems.

I would not be happy, maybe you should look into the LEO// code enforcement option

Just curious. Are these folks from India or Native American?

HH. I'm thinking he is talking about the ones from the other continent, would be interesting to know if they are Sikh with the turban

Dot not feather.

Our first neighborhood, which appeared very Cleaver-isque at first, had a neighbor against neighbor attitude and we got caught in the middle and we got the hell out. I'm happy with our peace so I'm not about to muddy the water.

It's a nice, great, neighborhood. They seem to mind their own business. Be great if they kept things up better but they're no different than any other neighborhood that has a lazy guy who won't mow his lawn or paint his house. Their actions yesterday were weird which is why it caught me off guard and distracted me.

Think I was more angry with ramming my car.

Not for our CJ but worked on getting the mill scale off of some steel we are building a winch mount for some dear friends. fc1043e17b226fd52be80676e6b7a1da.jpg

Scored a pair of jeep front seats from this donor jeepster Had to drive 160 miles one way but it was worth the trouble. C/L comes thru again. They are installed on the recently acquired Renegade II. It just did not look right with aftermarket seats.Yes I got the hub caps (4) and the V 6 badges and a locking glove box latch. Had a great trip with wife and stopped for lunch at
Camp 18 rest.

Made good progress on the Renegade .finished up the timing chain replacement along w/fuel pump, new radiator hoses, distributor serviced, oil pan cleaned and new gasket installed.
I knew this survivor would need some maintanace to make it road worthy
so a few more things off the list.Got the donor seats installed and very happy although not exactly correct for 1971 they will be just fine. The photo of the nylon/aluminum camshaft sprocket for reference. It was very worn but still intact after 45 years. Next up is brake hoses.

The seats look great, I have heard of more than one horror story about those cam gears exploding into pieces

I figured out my no low beams issue.

ded91d0aa73c5b714407cde9745dc5f8.jpg

Naturally once that was fixed I saw that one low beam was out so now it's spawned into new chrome rings and two new headlights.

Is it worth running a fresh dedicated ground to each for a little extra umph?
