WOOWHOOO! I'm glad to hear that you are still moving forward with your "project". Hope that the wiper issue wasn't to vexing.

This is a fun forum I stumbled on- I am a newb but excited to get my new 84 CJ7 on the road-

This weekend I got it to pass emissions but in the process lost all rear lighting ( not going to complain because I am fairly certain the emissions guy went easy on me)
I also switched the wipers to the correct position.

Next up- electrical. Ugh.

Once I have lights in the rear I am street legal!

You have bigger ballz than most here, for pic'n THAT screen name.:poke:

Rear lights
After you ck the fuse box--If the fuse bx ck's OK.
Do you have turn signals still(ign switch has to be in 'run' position to ck this)?
If no-
Then check the connector on top of the steering colume(under the dash)to be sure it is full connected/engaged.

Well, I am like Johnny Cashs' "boy named Sue" song. I just picked my name. Glad you poked at me tho.

I have front turn signals but not rear. I think it is all related to grounds/connections in the back. It was wired for towing at one time as well.

The turn signal arm is not stiff so thinking it may have something to do with the switch as well.

I would definitely check your grounds and make sure you are getting power through all of the wires to the various lights. My issues with lights are generally the grounds as well.

Got a few things done on the Renegade . new fresh air intake is in place, keyed glove box latch is in,bikini top went on for some fall season driving, made some passenger seat stops from UHMW to replace worn rubber tips.Dog lanyard installed to keep passenger inside vehicle.
Found some replacement lug nuts on e-bay to fit Renegade wheels.
Seems to be fairly road worthy for now. Brake hoses still need to be installed. mike

Got the CJ loaded on the trailer. Going wheeling and camping with some good friends this weekend 😉

stood beside it and drank a beer while scratching my head on where i want to mount my KC daylighter fuses and relay

I scrounged up a power distribution block out of a Ford pickup - it's full of fuses and relays. Might think about one of those....... makes for a clean mount

Changed the oil in my CJ7 (CJ Michele) my Jeeps name. I like using Royal purple, HSP 10-40W. With a Wix filter. Then ordered a sheet of poly carbonate, Lexan, and a seal for the back window in my lift gate. Gave up looking for the original glass window!

Backed it out of the garage so I could clean the garage some before I pick up my engine tomorrow that has been at the machine shop for cleanup and machine work for starting to put it all back together. Ready to get this project moving forward. Luckily this is not a hurry up project so I can get back to driving it. Old engine still runs well, just know it won't last forever and i may as well do it now while I'm still physically able

Fired her up - drove to my Son's school to air up a tire on a small golf cart trailer they have only to realize when I got there that I apparently lost a portion of my ARB tire inflator kit end when I aired up a golf cart and a function a couple weekend ago...

so I ran over a couple parking curbs, made my Son and his friends jealous by doing a few circles around them while they cleaned up after band practice and drove it home.

Then this morning I told my Son "No you can't drive it to school" - and left the house to calls of "but why?" lol

Let him drive it once from a local brewery and now he thinks it should be free game... Dang 17 year olds...

:D

I do a lot of that....

Drove mine out to my lake house, where it will be spending the winter:

First real 'road trip' since I brought it back home after three years at the shop. Put about 100 miles on it. Ran great, other than a sticking left rear brake. Seems that has 'self corrected', and now to tackle the lengthy list of 'little things' that need to be done.

Replaced the rotted brake hoses and right rear hard line that was damaged. Not very exciting work. Flushed the old brake fluid out when bleeding the lines. Feel much better about the safety of the old jeep.
Brake shoes and cylinders look good and it stops OK so on to the next job.
