What did you do to or with your CJ today?
Better start saving money. These dang things are worse than boats...
I'm trying really, really, really hard not to drop a 540 BBC in the back of this:

It's only money..... and ya can't take it with you...... :chug:

Let's see... What did I do to or with my CJ today???

Spent some more on Amazon buying trinkets for it: Recovery gear, interior do-dads, stuff...

I'm going to wrap all them up as Christmas presents for myself....

Unfortunately, I did nothing with mine. I did make a phone call ref getting the soft top converted from snap to channel mount. If I get it ready to sew, shouldn't be more than 75 bucks or so...... that'll get my old 80's fastback top ready for service

This is more of a "what I did to my CJ this week."

  • Fixed two small tears in my original vinyl seats. They came out pretty darn good and now I won't have to worry about them getting worse.
  • Received my new black alloy wheels.
  • Finished restoring my visors and painting the brackets.
  • Finished restoring my heater cables and painting the bezels black.
  • Picked up a new 2 ton long reach/high lift floor jack and a couple of 6 ton stands from HF.

Careful with those suckers... :chug:

(Meant the highlift trail jacks... You might have meant a actual floor jack - my bad... )

I drove the CJ to the grocery store. The radio turns on and off now.

I drove to the Veterans Memorial in Anthem and then tried to check out the ruins in agua Fria but the road was closed so visited Creator. Got the jeep up to 65 and am pleased overall. A little white knuckle in some areas but it handled well on pavement and off. A good day.

Ordered a Land Rover discovery bottle jack (no high lift for me they make me nervous) I still have the original scissor jack but with the lift the scissor jack is just for fun.

Today I knocked off all the dried mud that came back with me from Tahuya yesterday evening.

My buddy was in a 1990-something 4Runner.

There weren't many rigs on the trail yesterday. I saw maybe 15 unique vehicles... I had the only CJ seen; I saw 3 Wranglers all JKs.

I scampered through one of the more dicey lengths while two or three other groups backed up/jockeyed, backed up, eventually hung volunteer humans on a corner to get traction for two wheels.

Most of the day I just idled up inclines and controlled falls through whatever obstacles were waiting on the other side. It was a hoot.

Towed the new one home today. Now need to start reading all the old posts about the Dissy gear eating the cam gear and getting it running again. Anyone with advice I would appreciate it. I have never owned a AMC 304 before.

Got new heart for the old girl, now I just have to save up for fuel injection, clifford intake an headers.
