What did you do to or with your CJ today?
gert,
Looks 1/4"?
What was your process of matching the frame threaded holes to your skid plate holes? I know folks use different methods just curious as to yours.

3/8s plate, it's what was laying around heading to the dumpster, I marked the frame where the center of each hole was and drew it on the angle plates then measured the width to center of the holes to get my location

You won't be denting that skid plate!

I've dented my 3/8" plate lol - welded up some more structural support though.

Did similar to the when I installed the SM420 in mine.

Looks gook gert!

:chug:

^^ your an animal!!

Only an animal could dent a 3/8" skid plate! Haha

Maby it was under the back seat while he was in the woods....

lol - I'd say you've never seen the little sluice box these days on the Rubicon Trail, but you've seen plenty of that type of wheeling... Most of it comes from being on 33's with 2-1/2" spring lift still... ;)

my bad! Apparently I had the wrong "3" - I made mine out of 3/16" - not 3/8" - little difference - that's why I've dented mine lol..

:chug:

You just lost your animal rating. Lol

Today was a milestone, Having started out a few months ago with a pile of parts resembling a CJ7 , I was able to turn the key today, she roared to life! Smooth, quiet, no leaks, no drips, clanking, banging, etc. Everything electrical works, including gauges. I did eliminate the direct wiring for the headlights, the switch contacts are pitifully small to handle any real current, (I'm running H4 lights 55/65 watt) so I opted to use the switch to turn on 3 relays, one for high, one for low, one for the driving lights. Almost ZERO voltage drop. 14.6 at alternator, 14.3 at headlights on Hi.
Oorah!
Lance:)

Congratulations !

lol I got my idea from yours, decided it would be easy to chop the tubing off my angles and weld a plate in its place

I finally put my valve covers on. Now to start in on finishing the plumbing on the intake and wire in the MSD6 before adding the Sniper.

Nice progress! Looks like you are going to beat me to the finish line completing your project! I think to make it fair, you should pull the engine out and paint the lower parts to match the top!:poke:

Ha! I wouldn't bet anyone though. I can drag electrical work out for ages.
