You just lost your animal rating. Lol

Agreed! So, so disappointing... ;-)

Lol - fair enough fellas! I thought we built from the 3/8" we have out back, but my brother corrected me... lol (he reads here).

Random message in our IM system at work: "dude - your skid plate is 3/16" not 3/8"... :poke: "

I'm like "shoot - better clear that one up... probably lose my animal rating now..."

lol
:chug:

Can't wait... although I guess technically I can because I will, but dang... can't!

Well so far this morning I've removed the front section of the Transfer Case , knocked the shaft out, pulled the split ring off and bearings out.
The repair manual is painful and very vague .. remove this that and the part will slide out ..but how do you get that bit out lol

Mine ain't too far off

Couldn't find a place in my shop to set the seats which need to be removed to get under the dash to find an electrical problem so I decided to clean off the table saw outfeed tables which have been covered with tools, parts, hardware, lubricant, evaporust tub, and misc. other :dung:. Rerouted the 220v line for the saw, and leveled it all up. IT LIVES AGAIN!!!

Bought a new headlight and ignition switch (figure while I'm in there...) will pick them up tomorrow at Advance and hopefully Monday fix whatever the hell is going on behind the dash.

Well I've pulled my whole Transfer Case apart ...
parts worn .. output front shaft .. needs replacing 15thou of groves, to match internal bronze sleeve is worn as well.
Intermediate shaft rooted .. big wear groves pitting ...rollers are of course stuffed to.
Looked at front output yoke and it has a nice grove ..some previous po has selected a good oil seal which compensated for this.

So I wrote a nice big email to a parts man .. asking for front shaft, front yoke, and a master rebuild kit with the 1 1/8 intermidate shaft, may as well throw in some new poppet bearings and get a set of shims just to have them.

I did clean up the Transfer Case it looks shines now .. might need a reprint ..

What totally sucks is the time factors for parts ..and the postage will be a killer

Waiting on parts is the worst, are you having to get yours from another country?

Yeap .. USA to Australia

Let me plead my ignorance here, but I thought American cars a pretty popular in Australia. Its so popular that there's even rival groups that are either hardcore Ford, GM, or Mopar guys. With all the interest in American cars, I assumed there would be a better supply chain then ordering the part all the way from USA. That sucks!

In the event that my stainless oil filler tube never fits like I want, I took a cutoff wheel to my old one. It never would come loose, and I don't mind it being an inch shorter as opposed to paying $35 and shipping for a new one. I'll run it through the parts washer tomorrow, then have it bead blasted and painted and installed tomorrow night.

Lol they are pretty tall

The filler tube on mine is about half the height of stock. Don't know when in its life it was cut down, but I like the look of the shorter tube....

Well I feel better about it the. Perhaps now it won't be what draws ones attention.
