What did you do to or with your CJ today?

What did you do to or with your CJ today?
finished the front bumper swapped out the tires from the CJ6 to the CJ5

Cancelled my order for superior axles after waiting 4 weeks on back order and still a couple more weeks out at best. Reordered some in stock Mosier1 peice axles so I can get this thing off the jack stands again!

As much time and effort as we all have put into the AMC 232 i6 , you damned well better get it running before you start in another direction.:pissed:

Oh i will i just couldnt pass up that deal, i basically named the price and if i ever have to buy an adapter the only one i will have to buy if one to bolt my t-18a to a V8, everything will bolt right up to my AMC 232 i6 or the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l . All i have left to do on the timing cover is put a few more bolts in, mount the alternator bracket back on and get it back on the damper and fan and pulleys and put my grille back on and check the dizzy so a few hours worth of work.

I didn't do this today, I did it two days ago. I just finally got the computer back working again. Friday, I packed up what was left in my house that the movers didn't take, put the tow bar on the front of the CJ, pulled both of the drive shafts out, hooked it up behind the XJ and drove from Gales Ferry, CT to our new house in Williamsburg, VA. Maybe tomorrow I'll get the driveshafts back in and take a spin in the new neighborhood :driving:

I put 250 miles on her this weekend with no problem other than hearing damage from flappy softtop at hiway speed.

Fixed the right front turn signal. Bulbs, continuity test, found multifunction switch bad, none in stock, jumpered to left side. All good now.

Loving it more daily.

Confirmed my AMC20 has a 3.54 gear ratio.

What did you do to or with your CJ today? Part II

I took my CJ5 out to the La Plata Mountains. That is usually a challenge this time of the year. You need a winch because there is still a lot of places that still have snow. I also bring a saw because of all the trees that fall down during the winter. Today was easier than I expected. Someone else must have already removed the trees. Then I got to a place where winter avalanche swept over the trail. The snow was still 10 feet deep and was impassible.

So then I turned around and decided to explore the side trails. I found a trail that followed the stream. There was a crossing that I wasn't too sure of. The water was higher than normal and I took my time to assess if I should cross.

This trailhead is just half an hour from my home in Durango.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: I love Colorado.

Then I came home and got on the Internet with the intent to add a post to the thread "What did you do to or with your CJ today?". Then I find out the thread is closed. What's up with that? I've always enjoyed reading what the jeep enthusiasts are doing to their jeeps or where they are taking them.
So now I'd like to resurrect the thread.
Tell us what you've done with your jeep.

Re: What did you do to or with your CJ today? Part II

We took the CJ7 on a Mothers day camping trip to Heise Hot Springs, Idaho. The kids,& i found a mud puddle 3 miles up the road. After about 8 laps through the puddle the jeep stalled, fired up long enough to get back to the gate at the campground, stalled again, wouldn't fire back up. We pushed her about 300 yards back to the campsite, let her dry out overnite. She fired up on Sunday morning no problem. The kids loved it.

Re: What did you do to or with your CJ today? Part II

all I did with my CJ today was post pics of the weekend work online and daydream a bit more about it. Seems I'm most productive in sales tuesday through thursday lol...

I'm with Gert- reading about everyone else's fun in their CJ's is almost enough to entertain me instead of actually cruising mine!

As she sits right now:
