replaced started, reman duralast from Autozone no good, went with Nap premium reman. the gear was larger and simply worked....

Next up, getting Hydro-Clutch conversion tweaked in...

Drove her to Fort Bragg CA to abalone dive. (Easy limits) 80mph and 18.4mpg the entire way. :)

The last item on my CO trip checklist was to drop the gas tank and replace the 33yr old hoses and make sure the tank was clean. Well I found that all of the hoses were severely cracked and there were a few surprises in the fuel tank.

I went ahead and replaced the sending unit with a shiny new one from Oriley's. During the hose exchange I found that this little guy had a little rust inside. I blew it out and bolted it back on.

I now know that the tank is clean and looks as good as new on the inside! I also know that when my Gauge says E I still have 5 gal of gas inside the tank.

I have a mile long honey do list so I decided to take my CJ 1 mile down the highway to Home Depot to get the necessities. Which tuned out to either be a good idea or bad. Not really sure how to look at it. Either way I now have a pretty good leak coming from the rear shaft seal on my Dana 300 and my rear cam shaft seal on the motor is leaking pretty good now. (I'll start a thread to pick the CJ wizards brains)

Maybe my work schedule changing was a sign from the big man saying "Your CJ ain't ready for that quite yet!"

Your so organised .. that cardboard to catch the drips .. mine just leaked all over the driveway lol

I bought some grease for mine .. after a fight with the supplier about orders not coming in and they did come in and it was sitting on the shelf ..

I usually use cardboard for my back to stay of the hot, hard concrete:)

I would like to hereby declare that my 7,381 hours of wet sanding primer is COMPLETE!! OMG I'm not doin' that again!!! Hell with bustin rocks, make inmates sand primer - that'll take care of repeat offenders....

Now - to catch some decent painting weather :chug:

LMAO - ok, so maybe I exaggerated just a bit...... it seemed like 10,000 hours, but it probably was less than the 7k+ estimate.

LMAO

Amazing how long it takes to wet sand an entire CJ...... especially working on it here and there.....

I'd never wet sand a CJ. Just add more primer...;-)
