Oh and I have a CB now!

CB radios are great for CJs especially when on the trail with a group. I also carry a hand held CB for guiding somebody, having to check out the trail ahead by hoofing it, somebody's CB quits, or a new guy that doesn't have one. Watch giving it out though, sometimes its hard to get back.

Torx on another forum I'm on sometimes, those guys when they meet for events have decided to reject their CBs because of the poor quality sound and reception and going with GMRS radios ( General Mobile Radio Service ) which is a land-mobile FM UHF designed for short distance two way Comunication. Those guys say it is good quality sound and reception for 15-30 miles. I'm not saying it is that distance in the mountains. There is a license needed but no test and $70 for 5 years. Just something to think about

It's odd to see both a yellow and one red tail light on the back of a jeep .......... :) Yes, I know its a trick of lighting.

October has been unseasonably warm in the northeast. This morning we had our first cool morning at 36*. A bit chilly driving to work this morning topless. Which reminds me I have to switch my 180 thermostat to 195, engine took way too long to warm up.

Got me a new front bumper… my bent "C" channel original equipment bumper lies crippled on the shop floor wrought with my disdain.

Wire wheeled the frame ends… enlarged bolt holes for new stainless hardware. Just waiting for the paint to dry...

Installed a 2100 carb and removed some "stuff" under the hood in my friend's 79 CJ5 .

Pressure washed the naked tub and frame for 3 hours! Removed about 150lbs. of mud, dirt, grease and grime. Found some, what looks like hair, inside the frame. I'm assuming that some animal crawled in there and died at some point in this jeeps life! Glad it was almost 80 degrees in OK yesterday!

Finished the steering wheel. Now to decide what to do about the horn button cap center....

Again, it is beautiful.

What are your thoughts on the horn button, other than the stock button?

Thanky all to pieces....

The only problem area is the clear cover. It's got small UV cracks all over, and a large crack halfway across. Will need to rig up anover clear cover, or just replace the logo button underneath as well. Thought about a walnut center with the AMC Jeep logo cut into it, but haven't settled on anything yet. Kinda back burnered that. Needed the steering wheel to be functional, but the center cap isn't quite as pressing..... so if you have ideas I'm all ears LOL

Great job! I like your idea of walnut center and AMC logo

Dreaming about driving mine does that count? Lol, I do hopefully have the correct adapter fitting on order for the clutch slave cylinder tho

Far as I’m concerned it counts!! It’s about all I’ve done substantial lately

Where I work we like to say the dream is alive, but sometimes it's more like a nightmare on Uranus. Just the nature of the business or where you are at, at the time
