What did you do to or with your CJ today?

I’m done and driving.. but I don’t think I’ll ever be “Done”.. I enjoy working on her way to much. One of my favorite things to do is the the pivot ball and it’s surrounding components lol

Swapped the distributor on my 225 V6 for a new HEI. Luckily - fired right up the first time

Team rush ignition upgrade.

Hmmmm..... Show of hands - Who has a CJ that is "Done" ?

Mine was done 34 years ago when I bought it. It is very driveable & road worthy. Not done now. Need to start again, nothing lasts forever

Nutter bypass, installed mechanical oil gauge.

Tomorrow: install M.O.R.E. Off road heavy duty steering box bracket. Then go fishing for 2 days!

The M.O.R.E. Off road heavy duty steering box bracket is NO JOKE!!

I got the one that moves your steering box forward 1 1/4” so my flipped 1 ton steering doesn’t rub under heavy flexing.

This is a straight up installation, UNLESS your CJ front drivers spring shackle perch bolts are broken off inside the boxed frame. ;(

Soooooo, cut a flap out of the frame and replaced everything. Lock washers, lock nuts and red lock tite. Put the flap back and welded it back up.

Now everything is stiffer than factory. I smoothed everything back down so my winch plate could be reinstalled.

The steering column is 2 pieces held together with PLaSTIC inside. I put a torch to it and melted the plastic to sepperate the 2 halves. Then was able to lengthen the shaft to accommodate the new steering box location.

The door locks have not worked since I got my '78 so I have been keeping it in the garage at night for fear of someone stealing the doors off of it. They are really nice so today I pulled them apart and found all they needed was some WD-40 to free them up. So now they work great and I can lock it up.

Not actually today but within the past few days... I made a completely new dash. Even made the gauge bezels. Added a heater too.
Gauges are... speedometer, tachometer, oil psi, water temp, amps, volts, fuel psi, vacuum & fuel level.... then ran outof room lol.

Well tonight I pulled it into the garage and went to swap out the manifold gasket. Saw that it was going to be a little more than I had time to do tonight. So I shut the hood and backed it out of the garage. I will do that when I have a little more time. Maybe a weekend date. Shoot. Putting it off a little longer.

So... you pulled your Jeep in and out of the garage...?

Still, had me beat...
