Broke the head off of a bleeder valve while bleeding the brakes. Now I get to buy calipers. Yay me.

Oh, man - that sucks. Can’t get the broken part out with an easy-out??

I have never been able to successfully get anything out with an EZ out of any type. I would probably destroy the threads.

I have a set that was my grandfather’s..... Ive had success with em a couple times. I tend to believe the current crop of easyputs aren’t up to snuff.

I have five different sets, and I have gotten them to work a couple of times. Max. Once was on a bolt for my engine mount. So that was a big relief when it started to turn. But generally, they have not been good for me.

Ya have to cuss em good before you start....

Sometimes a little heat also

In my CJ tool box I keep a few sizes of left handed drills. The cutting pressure from the drill rotating backwards can back out a busted stud. It has worked successfully a few times on the trail.

This is what I have and have worked. I have broken the easy outs and that just causes more problems.

I've got to say I have used them a few times and they do work well. They work great on screws with stripped heads

I'm not saying they don't work I have friends who swear by them I just think you have to have the touch and I don't.

Last night I wanted to pull off the top and go wash the Jeep to get the remainder of Colorado off of and out of the vehicle. I went to start it up and all it would do was crank. Not a single fire. I wiggled this and tightened that. Cussed a bit, kept trying etc. etc. Nothing.

Finally after chilling out a bit, I noticed on the dash unit for the Sniper, that my throttle position sensor was at 72%. The TPS recalibrates at key-on so I checked to make sure the throttle wasn’t bound up. It wasn’t so I have a bad TPS.

Doing some reading I found that my Sniper takes a TH191, same as many LS’s do. I also read that you can simply unplug it to start the engine. I unplugged mine and it fired right up.

Fast-forward to tonight, I fired it up and went to the car wash and OMG – it ran GREAT, like perhaps better than it ever has. So odd. My new TPS will be in tomorrow (ordered a cheapie from Amazon and the OE from Summit). If it doesn’t stay running like it is, I’m calling Holley to see what gives or what I don’t have set right. It may be that my TPS was never “right” and a new one will be perfect. We shall see.

That said, the dust and :dung: from Colorado is now gone on the inside as well. What a mess. Going to shine it up nice and take it to the local club’s show and shine Friday night.

Good you found the issue.

Your cleaning up, and I’m getting dirty.

Much rather do this on a stand.

I don't think that I have ever been successful rotating a main seal out this way. That's kind of why I gave up last year an decided to pull the engine rather than work laying on my back. Good thing I did the rebuild, the PO had installed stock rings with .030 over pistons!

Purrtty! Does this mean your only going to drive up and down the main drag in Silverton this year instead of going out on the trails? :poke:

I won’t say the thought hasn’t crossed my mind for about two or 3 ms... ;-)

The only road out there that I can do without is the road to Animas Forks from Silverton. HATE that stretch..

Yeah, very dusty. But what else would we do with our time if we didn't pamper our Jeeps! We actually got around to washing most of Moab off of our Jeep this week.
