I installed a lower heater hose on a 75 V8.

If you want to force a 5/8” hose a 3/4” diameter water pump nipple or cut the hose and use adapters grab yourself a $10 hose and have at it.

However, if you want to use the correct 5/8” hose with one 3/4” end then use the part number below. Jeep no longer makes them but ford does. Yes, they cost more ($27 @ Napa) but worth the clean look while eliminating potential leaks IMO.

To late now for you but I saw a guy use some all thread to line up the hinges on the body when he was ready to do his doors

Found a set of battery powered LED lights for the Jeep wreath. A little late for this year, but now I’m good for next year

No picture right now, but last weekend I pulled it in the shop for the winter to hopefully get some kinks worked out in the next couple months.

1) Pulled the front springs and started cutting the spring mounts from the frame. Going from a homebrew shackle reversal to a MORE kit to get the shackle mounted through the frame.

2) Pulled the rear driveshaft and replaced the yoke that got damaged during a u joint failure.

3) pulled off the rusted out and beat up side pipes to prep for swapping to manifolds and a real muffler.

Welded up the old radio holes in the dash..fabricated a new head unit frame and mounted, then set about cleaning and servicing the millions of parts I’m going to have to paint and install...started with all the door parts..locks catches window winders etc...not such fun times...but worth it..might need some galvanized paint..

I feel your pain. Thinking back, my fatal mistake was painting the “new” frame. Had I just bolted everything over like it was, I would have been driving it probly 4 years earlier than I did. If I ever do this again, I think I’ll just rebuild the whole drivetrain and clear coat everything else...... in clear flat.

Will be sweeeeet when it’s finally done...have other toys to scratch that itch...pretty excited to be moving along though...only a couple more years ...lol

I have actually begun the process of digging out my work bench (All neat freaks should stop reading this post now....)

After 5 years of Jeep work, the bench became a catchall for everything else. I actually reloaded some ammo a couple day’s ago - I’m beginning to remember I have other hobbies

You have a work bench? I don't remember seeing a work bench when I was there. Don't feel alone. Sometimes i have to set up a spare bench at home when I'm doing a big project. When both benches are full,I need to clean house.

I went grocery shopping.

It is hilarious here in Germany because at least once a week some hemp wearing scold lectures me in German about how I am destroying the environment driving my Jeep. I am seriously considering hanging a MAGA hat from my Rear view mirror to see how many heart attacks I can cause.

Have been without backup lights for a couple months. Since we had like a whole two days straight without rain, I figured yesterday was a good troubleshooting day. I had backup lights for a while, so I first checked the ground - good to go. Crawled underneath and whadya know - the connector had come off the backup switch. Nice - I like an easy fix. Turned the key on and threw it in reverse - no joy. Grabbed the test light, and had no voltage running to the rear of the Jeep in the backup light circuit. Had none at the backup harness connector at the firewall connector. Everything I checked was either wired correctly or connected properly. Then I found it. The connector at the steering column wasn’t reconnected when I swapped out the ignition switch a while back. Took me 30 minutes to find one dang connector not where it was supposed to be. But at least I now have back em up lights

Or a display board hanging in the back window showing MPG’s in real time......

Now that would be a hoot, although I would have to put liters/100km as Germans don't get MPG.

I love making liberal German heads explode though. It has gotten to the point where my wife kicks me when certain subjects come up. I have actually had Germans tell me they should be able to vote in US presidential elections because the position is globally so important. They really hate it when they find out I jumped through the hoops to be a hunter over here too and am a retired American soldier. I think they worry that I will go postal. :)
