I really want to declare something done but all I can claim is being most of the way finished with the wiring under the hood. everything works, lights, fan, Horn. A little more cleaning things up and a few schematics for the electrical folder. maybe 4 or 5 more hours.

Pulled the air injection piping from the old smog pump off the exhaust manifold and plugged the holes. That fixed some exhaust leaks! Had to pull the carb off to reach one hole, and saw that the guy who replaced the manifold gasket a couple of weeks ago didn't get the center bolt in - cross threaded it. Now the debate is whether to take it back and make him lick that calf again or just try to do it myself.

Hope you didn't pay him too much! Why give him another chance to cross thread more?

I'm old school,If you want it done right, do it yourself. :)

I got to spend today digging out a rusted in, broken off bolt. It was one of the steering bracket bolts on the bottom of the frame. As long as I had the frame upside down, I took advantage of having an easier time getting to it. I had snapped off my easy-out and had to use a set of diamond burrs in my Dremel to dig that out. After a couple of hours, I got the easy out taken care of. I drilled out the rest of the bolt and was able to tap the captive nut and bolt on the heavy duty steering box mount.

I don't have that kind of patients. I had to deal with all three rusted broken off bolts for the power steering bracket on mine, and I didn't have the frame upside down at the time, so instead of cutting them off, drilling and tapping, I just pounded them through with a small sledge breaking the captive nuts loose of the frame. Then I fought for just a short bit to get new nuts in place through the small access hole in the side of the frame. They're all new grade 8 bolts and nuts now. :D

Well, I'm sort of old school myself (emphasis on old) :D, and part of that is expecting to get what I pay for. I figured I could get the bolt out and lined up, but was thinking if the threads were screwed up it might get a little more involved, and then it could turn in to a 'who messed up what when' fiasco. The shop corrected the mistake, apologized, and all is well.

Took the children out to Superior mining town. 4wheeled to the back side of the Apache Tears mine. My 6 year old son just kept yelling "We hit the motherlode" over and over and over again.

Glad to hear they fixed it. It bugs the heck out of me when they screw it up and charge a ton.

I shot the last freaking coat of primer on the drivers side today :chug: tomorrow I break out the spot welder again ugh
