What did you do to or with your CJ today?
So I stand corrected - must have been on all of em. Do they help keep the frame from widening in that area or is it just to make dropping the oil pan a lot more fun?

Oh, :dung:! THAT’S not good.....

The pictures don't do the destruction justice. My one piece shafts are trashed there's bits and pieces and metal shavings all in my axle tubes. I have a new set of Yukon shafts on the way. Amazon says Wednesday delivery I'm scheduled for the opening off roading event of the year Friday. Hopefully a few all nighters and I can still make it.7f280b6553d5d6ce33adbf9eb831de86.jpg92db553de6ab4577e971713e45bb7565.jpg2f95ae99f97444aed831cf8f2ae5ad12.jpg

It's bad but savable might take the whole housing to the machine shop for cleaning and repairs I had a hell of a time getting the race bearing spacers and seals outa9b6447b1b12ab76d3bba00323516b26.jpgf562b4df358fb1f4f60e6111ef3d080d.jpg70a156081c5a113c306b37f4cf4a3629.jpg

Well I didn't make my trip but I did take her on a few test drives. Brakes aren't 100% yet (got more parts on order) but at least it's drivable until then.

Also got my winch finished up03084416bed672047dd89123485de7ea.jpg8b231e8eda1897f2129b183ae27cbca6.jpg95cd1fffdcd65e53b6b7af02f5e8a61a.jpg

Well, it's been two years since I've posted or really done anything with my Jeep.
Today, that changed. My Wife's '08 Commander took a dump about two weeks ago and instead of fixing it right away, we decided to get 'Ol Casper up and running.
Got the windshield mounts and windshield put back on that I had our local glass shop install the glass I bought from Morris into the frame. Still gotta figure out how to mount the w/s wiper motor back onto the frame as I stripped out the two little threaded dealos welded to the inside of the frame.

The BIG one is I finally got the fuel tank installed! Had to cut and splice a fresh piece of wire for the sending unit as the one on it had two splices wrapped in yuge balls of elect. tape. Put some plastic loom around it to boot. Made sure to heat shrink the end and the butt connector. as well. Got lucky and found out that the fuel line that comes from the front of the rig is made of plastic therefore it made it much easier to install the fuel line. I just forgot to slip the spring loaded hose clamp back onto the fuel outlet where the fuel line goes on. Can't get the filler hose connected yet as it's hard as the hubs of hell. I'll figure it out later.

Did work on the lights too. When I drove this Jeep home, all the lights worked but the turn signals were wonky.
I've been messing with the headlights and marker lights for a few weeks and finally took the HL switch out to have a look. Well, it was all balled up like a drunk spider's web. I trimmed all the junk off of it, put wires back to where they belonged and loe and behold, lights! Still have issues but at least they "work" now.

The Wife came out today while I was working on it and said she couldn't wait to go boonie cruisin with the kitties in the back. The kitties are roughly 200 lbs. of teeth and muscle. ; )
