Finally got my new motor mounts installed. Also had to replace a rear driveshaft u-joint that was less than 18 month's old. Even got my eife wrenching on the CJ with mecb10cd93458fea4b084925ae2290d14f.jpg

Detailing parts today. Got the engine filled and primed. What bar is that running under your oil pan?

It’s a cross brace mounted between frame rails using one engine mount bolt on either side. IIRC, it was used in the V8 frames. I have one on mine, but is was originally an I6 and was probly added later.

So I stand corrected - must have been on all of em. Do they help keep the frame from widening in that area or is it just to make dropping the oil pan a lot more fun?

Just wondering cause I've worked on several CJ's both V8 and 6 and I have never seen one.
